Forward this e-mail to friends if you want to extend this promotion to your colleagues.

WILD Magazine wants to hear from your class!

wild classes 200

Teachers, help your students have fun with literacy and conservation! There’s still time to participate in CWF’s WILD Classes of the Year project. Check out wild-mag.ca to see how you can get your class involved. The submission deadline is October 31. We can’t wait to see what they come up with!

Help the Leatherback Turtles Win the Shell FuellingChange™ contest

Your class can help support CWF’s Amazing Turtle Migration! Simply collect receipts from purchases at Shell. Each receipt features a store and transaction code that can be redeemed for 10 voting points in the Shell FuellingChange™ program. Collect those points to vote online before the contest closes Oct. 31. To make this into a lesson plan, check out the interactive sea turtle games on our Kids’ Cove. You can also send your students to our website to research this endangered species.

Tell us how you celebrated World Rivers Day and continue to make waves all year

If you celebrated World Rivers Day on Sept. 25 we’d love to hear about it. Send us an e-mail telling us about your activities. If you missed the campaign, you can still make waves. CWF has some great water ecology videos which you can download free of charge to inspire your students to care, conserve and commit. With World Wetlands Day in February, World Water Day in March and Rivers to Oceans week in June, there will be many more opportunities to make a difference.

Order wildlife calendars to raise money for school projects

gtk calendar 200 2011

CWF wants to help students and teachers raise money for important projects. We are offering schools discounts on the 2012 CWF Robert Bateman Get to Know Contest Calendar and Robert Bateman greeting cards. Schools can order these unique conservation themed products in bulk at discount prices from CWF and sell them for profit. This is a great way to raise money and teach students about sustainable economics.

Learn more about the Nova Scotia Couple that purchased the All-Access Adventure

CWF thanks all those that bid in our first e-Bay auction. A young couple from Nova Scotia has purchased this Western getaway for two. They will tour the Columbia Icefield, white water raft with Les Stroud, creator of the hit T.V. show Survivorman, and canoe with Olympian Adam Kreek. Proceeds from the All Access Adventure auction will be dedicated to education initiatives encompassing the Robert Bateman Get to Know program.

Sincerely,

Luba Mycio Mommers, Ph.D.
Director of Education

P.S. Don’t forget keep up to date on our Wild Education workshops through our online calendar. If you’ve already taken Project WILD or Below Zero, our weekend-long facilitator training is the next step to lead your own workshops for fellow educators. View details of our upcoming facilitator-training weekend in central Ontario and stay tuned for more opportunities throughout the year.
