Dear educators:
With spring on its way the Canadian Wildlife Federation is stepping up its education campaign. Here are some highlights of our newest initiatives:
Enroll in CWF’s Summer Course in Nunavut
Registration is now underway for CWF’s summer course July 24-31st in Nunavut. This will be an amazing arctic learning experience for formal and non-formal educators. The course fee is $1,500, which includes academic instruction, conservation field trips, accommodation and most meals. Participants have to pay for and book their own flight to Iqaluit but CWF has negotiated special rates from First Air. Flights to Nunavut fill up fast, so register now to get our airline discount code.

Celebrate World Water Day March 22nd
"Water for Cities: Responding to the Urban Challenge" is this year’s theme for World Water Day. This is a time to focus on the importance of our freshwater resources. You can find out more about the United Nations campaign and order materials online. You can also download CWF’s Rivers to Oceans videos, water lesson plans and educator guides to enhance your World Water Day events.

Raise Funding for School Projects
Schools can now turn to CWF for amazing fundraising opportunities. We are offering school discounts on many products such as wildlife greeting cards, key chains and t-shirts. Schools can earn a profit on these items by selling them in the community at regular prices. The profit can be applied to any initiative of your choice, but if you raise $1,500 or more for habitat development, you can also apply to cwfEducation for an additional wildlife nature field study project grant of up to $250. Thanks to the Robert Bateman Get to Know program and CWF’s Wild Magazine for participating in the school fundraiser promotion.

Commemorate International Year of Forests
Thanks to everyone who ordered our new forest poster featuring the artwork of Wallace Edwards. The response to this project was incredible and the poster has now been printed. If you requested a copy, it should be in your mailbox soon. If you haven’t placed an order you can still do so, but charges will apply for all new orders.

Walk for Wildlife and Get to Know your wild neighbors
Schools are encouraged to Walk for Wildlife April 10 May 22 and log their kilometers to add to CWF’s nationwide tally. The National Wildlife Week campaign coincides with the launch of the CWF Robert Bateman Get to Know contest, an incredible opportunity for youth to submit art, writing, videography or photography on the theme “Wild Neighbours of the Forest.”
