National Wildlife Week (April 10 to 16) is here and the CWF’s second annual Walk for Wildlife campaign is in full swing at NationalWildlifeWeek.com. Celebrate our country’s natural heritage and support its conservation by enjoying the wildlife and natural spaces in your community. This spring, get outside and gain a new appreciation for the natural spaces in your neighbourhood. Until the International Day for Biodiversity on May 22, visit a favourite local spot or venture to a new area you’ve been planning to explore. Then, take the last step online by visiting NationalWildlifeWeek.com to log your kilometres and add them to our national tally, helping us walk across Canada. To mark the International Year of Forests, we’ve chosen five Canadian species to represent our progress as we make our way through Canada’s forest ecozones. Visit our website to learn more about the Northern Spotted Owl, which has already begun its journey across the Pacific Maritime ecozone. Raise Funding for School Projects
Schools can now turn to CWF for amazing fundraising opportunities. We are offering school discounts on many products such as wildlife greeting cards, key chains and t-shirts. Schools can earn a profit on these items by selling them in the community at regular prices. The profit can be applied to any initiative of your choice, but if you raise $1,500 or more for habitat development, you can also apply to cwfEducation for an additional wildlife nature field study project grant of up to $250. Thanks to the Robert Bateman Get to Know program and CWF’s Wild Magazine for participating in the school fundraiser promotion. Sincerely, |
