Thank you to our summer interns! |
This year, the Canadian Wildlife Federation was happy to host 21 students through the Canada Summer Jobs program, an initiative of the Summer Work Experience program, of Service Canada. Students across the country, from Halifax to Vancouver, joined our team and helped to carry out important education and conservation work. We can’t thank them enough! |

Celebrate Tree Day on September 21!
Did you know that ONE large tree provides a day’s worth of oxygen for FOUR people? It’s true. Needless to say, trees are not only important for wildlife but for us, too.
We invite you to celebrate #TreeDay with CWF on September 21, 2016!

Petition: MicroPlastics
Take Action! With over 202,000 km of coastline along three oceans and 891,163 square kilometres of its total area covered by fresh water, Canada is a nation defined by its connection to water. Unfortunately, those waters are under threat from a growing environmental concern — microplastics. We want to hear from you: this is your opportunity to have a say with our microplastics petition and survey. Sign the Petition »

Where Are Our Whales?
Canada is home to the world’s most majestic whale species from the Humpback to the Blue Whale. Unfortunately, many of these beautiful animals are threatened or endangered. We need to do our part to save these animals. And to do that, we need to do a little digging to uncover where exactly these whales spend their time while in Canadian waters. Then and only then, will the government be able to establish protected areas around sensitive whale habitats. The Canadian Wildlife Federation is following the Whales, Habitat and Listening Experiment (WHaLE) Project as they use state of the art underwater drone technology to search for Canada’s Great Whales in the Northwest Atlantic Ocean. You can follow along too! |

Mark Your Calendars!
Planning for the 2016-2017 school year? Don't forget to Walk for Wildlife during National Wildlife Week, April 10-14, 2017! Yet again, awesome prizes will be available for the class or school that raises the most funds for species-at-risk. Donations received throughout activities in this campaign will be directed toward the Canadian Wildlife Foundation’s “Wild by Nature” initiative, a campaign designed to secure funding for critical CWF species at risk programs.
